Last week a few of the ladies from Mormon Matchmaker (http://www.theldsmatchmaker.com/) were in town. They hosted a free meet and greet at Kenny and Ziggy's and also held complimentary "Meet the Matchmakers" consultations for those who wanted to do so.
So I made an appointment on Friday to meet with a matchmaker. I showed up and met with Lily. She was so nice and asked me all about myself (family, job, likes, dislikes, hobbies, type of guy I'm looking for, etc.) She explained to me how the process works. Their clients (guys) come to them for dates. They then use their database and resources to find girls for them to date. If one of the guys likes me, then the Matchmakers contact me, tell me about the him and get an OK from me for him to either contact me himself or for them to set up a date. I told her that I am willing to travel for a date...you never know! :)
Side note, the guy from last week (No K Cupid J) keeps texting me asking to see me again. Apparently he had way more fun on our date then I did.......
And then there is this guy..he's 64.........
"What a man writes depends on that which touches his soul it can happen in a great slow wave over days and weeks and years or in the twinkling of an eye as you lift the veil from your own soul to show me what no one but me can see. . .
Dear Christi
You have a nice smile and good background. I appreciate what I saw of your values. I'm a loving man who is very young for age, healthy and strong. I'm looking for a woman who wants a family. I'm a professor of pediatrics; I invent math skills-enhancing puzzles for children, I sing with the symphony and I can write you a sonnet. Let me know if you would be interested.
These days I’m only interested in a relationship that is soul to soul. And I want you to know that the most important other thing for me is to have a child with someone in the context of love. I know you may prefer a younger man but if you can allow your heart to open to me, many wonderful things will follow. They are worth our talking about and seeking.
Communication is the key. Let us find the best in one another.

Soul says-- how can i win You when all i have is already Yours?

Lucky me! I'm sure he is a lovely frog for someone, just not me.
I'm pretty sure the same 64 year old e-mailed me the exact same message. Ew. I just deleted it.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm sad I missed the Mormon Matchmakers. Maybe they will come back into town later this year and I'll be ready to meet them.
